Amanda is your dedicated patient liaison and coordinator. We check in daily, then weekly through the first month, and Ellie begins specialized bariatric dietitian follow-up at approximately one month.
Our virtual pathway keeps you connected across the distance. We coordinate your preparation before you travel, remain closely involved during your local recovery, and continue most aftercare once you return to Vancouver.
Your MyLife package covers all required preoperative consultations and care, surgery and facility expenses, protein shakes delivered to your home, our surgical aftercare, bariatric dietitian care, and on-demand access to the one-year How2Heal program during the first five years.
Our patients can access additional structure when it can help most. How2Heal adds bariatric medical expertise, nutrition, behavioural support, activity guidance, health monitoring, and weight-management medication when clinically appropriate.
We use current-generation powered ETHICON laparoscopic stapling technology with GORE SEAMGUARD staple-line reinforcement and have carefully standardized each stage of preparation, surgery, recovery, discharge, and follow-up.
We deliberately limit the number of operations performed each surgical day so our surgeons and nurses can provide attentive, individualized care to every patient, including those who have travelled across the country to see us.
How we serve Vancouver
We complete most consultations, preparation, and follow-up for Vancouver patients virtually. Surgery is performed at Grand Genesis Health in Richmond Hill or GHA Surgical Center in Hamilton.
No physician referral is required. Most patients proceed from consultation to surgery in two to three weeks.
Most gastric sleeve patients from Vancouver and British Columbia complete their full assessment and preparation remotely. Amanda coordinates one planned trip to Ontario for surgery and the required early recovery period, minimizing unnecessary travel.

Planning your surgical visit
Book flexible travel only after Amanda confirms your surgical date and preparation requirements. We ask you to remain near the surgical centre for three days after surgery and assess you in person before you return to British Columbia.
Travel and accommodation are not included in the MyLife fee. Most follow-up continues from home by Zoom or phone, with in-person care available whenever requested or clinically appropriate.
Travelling from Vancouver is a significant decision. Our role is to make the clinical pathway clear, the experience personal, and the care continuous long after you return home.
